The 11696 is a PPS4-1 general purpose IO. Its synopsis is described on the figure below. It is similar to the 10696, but with notable differences. Mainly, instead of having 12 inputs and 12 outputs, it has 24 in/out channels. In this perspective, the HW internal circuitry is more like an A17 IOs subsection. It means that to configure a channel as an input one has to write '0' so that the pin is Hi-Z as an output and can be read from the corresponding input mosfet.

The table of commands is also different from the table of the one of the 10696. From our experimentations and findings, the command table for the 11696 is as described in the document here, which gives also references to Recel sys 3 MPU, where the 11696 is used.
